Physiology

Physiology is a branch of basic medical sciences which describes the nature of life. It provides the framework for studying and exploring the basis of life through the understanding of normal functions, mechanisms, and their interactions, which works within an organ system. Physiologists view life from the simplest to the most complex levels of organisation – from the subcellular, to the whole person.

The Department of Physiology of the CMR IMS offers various academic programs namely medical undergraduate (MBBS). All the academic courses are carefully prepared and being executed keeping in mind the importance of basic and applied physiology in clinical settings. Besides teaching, the Department is also committed to supporting the patients’ care services, viz. Testing of Autonomic Functions, Pulmonary Function Tests, Andrological Investigations and Electrophysiological tests. Faculties of the Department engage in various research studies which includes extramural funded projects.
